Planning to Move to Cyprus? Extend Your Stay With Ease

If you’re a third country national looking to stay in Cyprus for more than 90 days, a Temporary Residence Permit is required. We can assist you in navigating this process, ensuring you meet all the necessary requirements to enjoy your time in Cyprus without any stress.

Who Can Apply for a Visitor’s Temporary Residence Permit?

Eligible third-country nationals can apply under the following categories:

  • Autonomous Visitor Permit
  • Dependent Spouse Visitor
  • Dependent Minor Child of a Visitor
  • Priest, Monk, or Nun of the Orthodox Church or recognized religious minorities
  • Dependent Adult Family Member of a third-country national with an Immigration Permit
  • Dependent Partner of a Cypriot Citizen, for those in a long-term, proven relationship intending to marry

Permit Duration

  • Autonomous Visitors: Receive a 1-year permit, renewable annually.
  • Priests, Monks, or Nuns: Eligible for a permit up to 3 years upon request and supporting documentation.
  • Marriage Visitors: Receive a 3-month permit for the purpose of marriage.

In cases where your passport expires soon, the permit is valid for three months prior to the passport’s expiration. Dependents will receive permits in line with the main permit holder’s validity.

Restrictions

  • Permit holders are not allowed to work in Cyprus.

Financial Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate stable and sufficient financial resources from income sources outside Cyprus, such as:

  • Salary, pension, or rental income
  • Bank deposits abroad
  • Dividends or interest on deposits

Additionally, a Cyprus-based bank statement showing foreign remittances in the applicant’s name is required.

  • Minimum monthly requirement: €2,000, or €24,000 annually, for one person.
  • For a spouse, the amount increases by 20%, and by 15% for each dependent child.

For the first permit, a cash transfer or deposit of at least €10,000 is accepted, along with a customs cash declaration where necessary.

Processing Time

Once submitted, temporary residence permits are generally issued within 4 months. In the meantime, you will receive an Alien Registration Certificate, allowing you to stay in Cyprus from the date of application submission.

Important Notice
